Event Significance: The first annual Angel of a Mine Remembrance Event honors National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, a time proclaimed for the month of October (15th) by President Reagan to acknowledge and support families who have experienced the profound loss of a pregnancy or infant. This event is deeply personal and significant, as it commemorates the loss of my daughter, Angel Grace, in December 2011. For ten years, my family struggled with infertility, and Angel Grace’s brief presence in our lives brought immense love and hope. Her memory continues to inspire us daily, and this event is a tribute to her and all the children who have left us too soon.
What Attendees Can Expect: Attendees of this heartfelt event can expect a compassionate and supportive atmosphere where they can connect with others who understand their grief and loss. The event will feature:
Opening Ceremony: A moment of silence and reflection to honor our lost angels.
Guest Speakers: Inspiring talks from individuals who have experienced similar losses, sharing their journeys of healing and hope.
Remembrance Activities: Opportunities for attendees to share their stories, participate in a candle-lighting ceremony, and create personalized tokens of remembrance.
Support Resources: Access to grief counselors, support groups, and an e-book to provide ongoing assistance beyond the event.
Memorial Wall: A space where attendees can leave notes, pictures, and mementos in memory of their loved ones.
Positive Takeaways: This free event aims to provide several meaningful takeaways for attendees:
Awareness: Increasing public awareness about the impact of pregnancy and infant loss, breaking the silence, and fostering a supportive community.
Support: Offering a network of support where families can share their experiences, find comfort, and receive guidance from others who have walked a similar path.
Hope: Inspiring hope through stories of resilience and strength, helping families to see that healing is possible and they are not alone in their journey.
Remembrance: Providing a meaningful way to honor and remember lost children, ensuring their memories live on and continue to impact lives.
